DJ Penly is a Dutch DJ whose early musical influences include Ben Liebrand's mixes, synthesizer music, and bands like The Police, reflecting a childhood exposure to diverse soundscapes. In the early 1990s, a keen interest in dance music developed during frequent visits to Belgium, particularly club and trance scenes. Penly regularly engaged with record stores and live venues, including interactions with other DJs such as Tiesto in Breda. After a hiatus starting in 2007 due to personal reasons, he resumed DJing, adopting the name Penly inspired by a village in Normandy, France, symbolizing renewal and energy.
