Bass-D
Bass D, also known as Eugenio Dorwart, was a Dutch DJ recognized for his significant contributions to the hardcore electronic music scene. He began his career in the early 1990s and became Dutch DJ Champion in 1992. Bass D was involved in founding the label Masters of Hardcore in 1995, a label noted for focusing on the darker aspects of the hardcore genre. He worked with notable acts such as Rotterdam Terror Corps and performed worldwide. His career spanned over thirty years until his passing at the age of 52.
The music Bass D is known for includes Early Hardcore, Gabber, and Hardcore genres, characterized by fast tempos and hard hitting bass drums typically above 200 beats per minute. Throughout his career, he participated in major hardcore events, including Thunderdome, Defqon 1, and Dominator. He was part of a duo with King Matthew and remained an active figure in the global hardcore scene until late in his life.
